ABSTRACT
To determine the association of HLA class I antigens with myasthenia gravis [MG] in southern Iran, 35 patients with the disease and 69 individuals with no sign of MG [controls], were examined. There were significant associations between MG and HLA-B8 [RR = 5.5, p < 0.05], and HLA-B51[5] [RR = 3.98, p < 0.05]. HLA-B7, on the other hand, was found to be markedly less prevalent in those with MG [RR = 0.01, p < 0.05]
